Kathmandu, June 19

The Legislature-Parliament approved its operations regulations with a majority on Sunday, paving the way for parliamentary hearing for appointments in constitutional bodies and diplomatic positions.

In the absence of the regulations, hearing on justices and ambassadors has been pending.

Meanwhile, ruling parties and opposition parties have agreed on the formation of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee. They have agreed on constituting the committee that will have 15 members, putting their differences over the size of the committee to rest.

The main opposition Nepali Congress had been seeking the formation of a 75-member committee, whereas ruling parties had been seeking a 15-member committee as stipulated in the new constitution.
