Kathmandu, May 12

An unidentified group planted a gas cylinder to explode near houses of two local leaders of Rastriya Prajatantra Party in Dubakot of Bhaktapur district in the wee hours of Friday.

The explosion did not incur any loss except smashing the windows of houses of local RPP leaders Madhav Khatri and Pushpa Pradhananga.

DSP Krishna Prasain suspected that the explosion was planned to terrorise locals in the run-up to local level elections scheduled for Sunday.

Further investigation is underway.

Earlier, security personnel had defused an explosive in Lokanthali of Bhaktapur on Wednesday midnight.
