Kathmandu, August 19

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s special emissary, held talks with India’s Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, in New Delhi on Friday.

Nidhi, who arrived in the Indian capital on Thursday, also called on India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

On Friday evening, DPM Nidhi will call on India’s President Pranab Mukherjeee and extend him an invite to visit Nepal.

Meanwhile, earlier reports indicated that Prachanda may visit Nepal in mid-September. However, Indian media outlets have claimed Mukherjee may not visit Nepal unless it amends the Constitution incorporating demands of the United Democratic Madheshi Front.

Nepal wants Mukherjee to attend an official programme marking the anniversary of promulgation of the Constitution through a popularly-elected Constituent Assembly.
