Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,239 new cases, 1,324 recoveries, 13 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 878,676 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,239 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,629 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 941 returned positive. Likewise, 3,614 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 298 tested positive.

Of total tests, 8.09 per cent of the PCR and 8.24 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.12 per cent.

As of today, there are 20,743 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,306 are hospitalised, 340 in intensive care units and 111 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,324 people have achieved recovery whereas 13 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 756,954 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,072 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.97 per cent and the death rate is 1.40 per cent.

Meanwhile, 138,385 people were vaccinated today.
