Nepal Covid-19 tally: 944 new cases, 297 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 928,837 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 944 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,762 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 696 returned positive. Likewise, 3,502 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 248 tested positive.

Of total tests, 7.12 per cent of the PCR and 7.08 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.11 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,140 active cases across the country. Of them, 509 are hospitalised, 81 in intensive care units and 14 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 297 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 0 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 814,006 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,602 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 243,460 people were vaccinated today.
