Nepal Covid-19 tally: 155 new cases, 540 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,080 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 155 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,239 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 101 returned positive. Likewise, 2,913 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 54 tested positive.

Of total tests, 4.51 per cent of the PCR and 1.85 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3 per cent.

As of today, there are 8,839 active cases across the country. Of them, 261 are hospitalised, 92 in intensive care units and 14 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 540 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was two deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 955,998 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,934 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 129,119 people were vaccinated today.
