Nepal Covid-19 tally: Infection count crosses 200k-mark with 38k+ active cases

Kathmandu, November 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 202,329 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,569 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,261 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,081 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 574,295 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 38,912 cases are active currently. Among them, 28,393 are in home isolation and 10,519 hospitalised.

Likewise, 382 are in intensive care units and 95 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far,162,243 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,174 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,666 people have been discharged whereas 26 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 80 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 1,100 people are quarantined across the country.
