Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,157 new cases, 1,113 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 885,936 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,157 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,652 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 892 returned positive. Likewise, 3,889 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 265 tested positive.

Of total tests, 8.37 per cent of the PCR and 6.81 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.95 per cent.

As of today, there are 18,193 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,315 are hospitalised, 354 in intensive care units and 99 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,113 people have achieved recovery whereas 8 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 764,847 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,123 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 286,145 people were vaccinated today.
