Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,386 new cases, 8,704 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,100,716 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,386 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,443 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,183 returned positive. Likewise, 2,808 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 203 tested positive.

Of total tests, 18.36 per cent of the PCR and 7.22 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 14.98 per cent.

As of today, there are 45,248 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,316 are hospitalised, 269 in intensive care units and 46 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 8,704 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 11 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 909,343 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,814 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 94.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 79,959 people were vaccinated today.
