Nepal Covid-19 tally: 994 new cases, 1,368 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 862,946 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 994 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,137 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 777 returned positive. Likewise, 3,703 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 217 tested positive.

Of total tests, 12.66 per cent of the PCR and 5.86 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 10.1 per cent.

As of today, there are 27,355 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,647 are hospitalised, 456 in intensive care units and 122 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,368 people have achieved recovery whereas 12 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 738,034 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,936 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.5 per cent.

Meanwhile, 68,630 people were vaccinated today.
