Nepal Covid-19 tally: 953 new cases, 1,371 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 25

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 881,105 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 953 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,050 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 790 returned positive. Likewise, 3,529 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 163 tested positive.

Of total tests, 11.2 per cent of the PCR and 4.61 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9 per cent.

As of today, there are 19,700 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,360 are hospitalised, 363 in intensive care units and 109 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,371 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 759,875 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,087 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 216,725 people were vaccinated today.
