Nepal Covid-19 tally: 9,238 PCR, 67 antigen cases added in 24 hours; death toll up by 168

Kathmandu, May 12

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 422,349 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 9,238 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 20,362 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 693,088 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 424 underwent antigen tests for the virus in the past 24 hours, of whom, an additional 67 tested positive.

As of today, 101,634 cases are active. Of them, 7,291 are hospitalised, 1,241 in intensive care units and 285 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 4,444 people have achieved recovery whereas 168 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate has fallen back to 74.9 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 316,463 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 4,100 died, according to the ministry.

Over 500 are quarantined across the country.
