Nepal Covid-19 tally: 9,198 PCR and 49 antigen cases added in 24 hours; death tally up by 214

Kathmandu, May 17

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 464,218 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 9,198 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 21,653 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 972,673 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 434 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 49 tested positive.

As of today, there are 113,480 active cases across the country. Of them, 6,970 are hospitalised, 1,259 in intensive care units, and 400 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,767 people have achieved recovery whereas 214 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 74.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 345,523 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 5,215 died, according to the ministry.

Over 700 are quarantined across the country.
