Nepal Covid-19 tally: 8,842 cases added in 24 hours; death toll up by 214

With all wards full, the Seti Provincial Hospital has had to setup beds at passageways to treat patients.

Kathmandu, May 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 431,191 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 8,842 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 19,474 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 712,562 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 105,207 cases are active. Of them, 8,828 are hospitalised, 1,381 in intensive care units and 380 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,055 people have achieved recovery whereas 214 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate has fallen back to 74.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 321,518 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 4,466 died, according to the ministry.

Over 500 are quarantined across the country.
