Nepal Covid-19 tally: 8,387 PCR and 249 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 169

Kathmandu, May 25

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 528,848 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 8,387 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 22,306 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 958,620 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 630 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 249 tested positive.

As of today, there are 117,261 active cases across the country. Of them, 8,833 are hospitalised, 1,672 in intensive care units, and 447 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 6,404 people have achieved recovery whereas 169 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 76.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 404,887 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 6,700 died, according to the ministry.

Over 920 are quarantined across the country.
