Nepal Covid-19 tally: 7,220 PCR and 205 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 185

Kathmandu, May 24

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 520,461 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 7,220 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 19,846 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 936,314 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 607 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 205 tested positive.

As of today, there are 115,447 active cases across the country. Of them, 7,376 are hospitalised, 1,697 in intensive care units, and 467 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 7,135 people have achieved recovery whereas 185 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 76.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 398,483 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 6,531 died, according to the ministry.

Over 920 are quarantined across the country.
