Nepal Covid-19 tally: 6,855 PCR and 96 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 96

Kathmandu, May 28

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 549,111 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 6,855 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 19,313 swab samples were tested. So far, 3 million and 17,377 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 797 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 96 tested positive.

As of today, there are 113,394 active cases across the country. Of them, 7,950 are hospitalised, 1,627 in intensive care units, and 450 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 9,841 people have achieved recovery whereas 106 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 78.1 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 428,670 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,047 died, according to the ministry.

Over 800 are quarantined across the country.
