Nepal Covid-19 tally: 6,677 PCR and 37 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 145

Kathmandu, May 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 535,525 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 6,677 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 19,030 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 966,650 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 322 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 37 tested positive.

As of today, there are 117,077 active cases across the country. Of them, 8,457 are hospitalised, 1,671 in intensive care units, and 434 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 6,716 people have achieved recovery whereas 145 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 76.9 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 411,603 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 6,845 died, according to the ministry.

Over 800 are quarantined across the country.
