Nepal Covid-19 tally: 65 new cases, 192 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,879 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 73 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,306 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 59 returned positive. Likewise, 1,641 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 6 tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.93 per cent of the PCR and 0.36 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.81 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,917 active cases across the country. Of them, 98 are hospitalised, 35 in intensive care units and six on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 192 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 961,070 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 88,488 people were vaccinated today.
