Nepal Covid-19 tally: 634 new cases, 136 recoveries, 9 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 31,117 as of Saturday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 634 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 216 cases were reported from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,519 swab samples were tested. So far, 592,418 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 18,350 people have achieved recovery whereas 146 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 136 people have been discharged whereas nine deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 59 per cent.

The other 12,621 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,705 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 3,916 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 135 are in intensive care units and 12 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Sarlahi, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Myagdi, Mustang, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 11,658 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
