Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,524 PCR and 792 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 101

Kathmandu, June 2

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 571,111 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 4,524 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 13,805 swab samples were tested. The positivity rate was 32.7 per cent.

So far, 3 million and 88,376 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 3,073 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 792 tested positive.

As of today, there are 101,993 active cases across the country. Of them, 6,862 are hospitalised, 1,448 in intensive care units and 385 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 7,219 people have achieved recovery whereas 101 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 80.8 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 461,563 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,555 died, according to the ministry.

Over 830 are quarantined across the country.
