Nepal Covid-19 tally: 45 new cases, 147 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 21

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,262 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 45 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,978 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 41 returned positive. Likewise, 1,774 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional four tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.37 per cent of the PCR and 0.22 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.94 per cent.

As of today, there are 3,135 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 147 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 963,111 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.5 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 59,378 people were vaccinated today.
