Nepal Covid-19 tally: 447 new cases, 439 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 908,554 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 447 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,577 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 395 returned positive. Likewise, 3,336 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 52 tested positive.

Of total tests, 6 per cent of the PCR and 1.55 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.50 per cent.

As of today, there are 9,123 active cases across the country. Of them, 687 are hospitalised, 223 in intensive care units and 59 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 439 people have achieved recovery whereas 7 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 793,271 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,434 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 97,070 people were vaccinated today.
