Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,311 PCR and 176 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 116

Kathmandu, May 29

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 553,422 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 4,311 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 14,006 swab samples were tested. So far, 3 million and 31,383 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 746 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 176 tested positive.

As of today, there are 111,509 active cases across the country. Of them, 7,809 are hospitalised, 1,614 in intensive care units, and 457 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 6,080 people have achieved recovery whereas 116 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 78.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 434,750 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,163 died, according to the ministry.

Over 800 are quarantined across the country.
