Nepal Covid-19 tally: 38 new cases, 269 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 23

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,361 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 38 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,855 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 34 returned positive. Likewise, 1,521 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional four tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.88 per cent of the PCR and 0.26 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.70 per cent.

As of today, there are 2,453 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 269 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 963,861 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.5 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 97,306 people were vaccinated today.
