Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,790 new cases, 2,335 recoveries, 18 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 19

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 136,036 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,790 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 2,388 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 15,714 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 300,918 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 40,778 cases are active currently. Among them, 26,927 are in home isolation, and 13,851 are hospitalised.

Likewise, 282 are in intensive care units and 63 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 94,501 people have achieved recovery whereas 757 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,335 people have been discharged whereas 18 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.5 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Kaski, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang has zero cases.

Over 4,400 people are quarantined across the country.
