Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,729 new cases, 1,885 recoveries, 25 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 777,589 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 3,729 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,493 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,430 returned positive. Likewise, 6,182 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,299 tested positive.

Of total tests, 25.59 per cent of the PCR and 21.01 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 23.78 per cent.

As of today, there are 34,942 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,515 are hospitalised, 732 in intensive care units and 158 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,885 people have achieved recovery whereas 25 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 665,548 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,019died, according to the ministry. Likewise, 2,208,055 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,403,021 have received their first dose. Today, 12,899 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
