Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,260 new cases, 2,294 recoveries, 32 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 798,651 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 3,260 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,806 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,473 returned positive. Likewise, 4,656 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 787 tested positive.

Of total tests, 22.88 per cent of the PCR and 16.90 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 21.08 per cent.

As of today, there are 38,180 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,342 are hospitalised, 737 in intensive care units and 183 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,294 people have achieved recovery whereas 32 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 677,377 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,212 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.3 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

Likewise, 2,922,240 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,593,526 have received their first dose. Today, 56,853 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
