Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,042 new cases, 2,244 recoveries, 26 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 823,647 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 3,042 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,530 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,079 returned positive. Likewise, 7,124 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 963 tested positive.

Of total tests, 19.74 per cent of the PCR and 13.51 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 17.23 per cent.

As of today, there are 40,309 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,387 are hospitalised, 714 in intensive care units and 171 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,244 people have achieved recovery whereas 26 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 693,543 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,455 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.1 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

Likewise, 3,799,178 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,907,523 have received their first dose. Today, 180,028 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
