Nepal Covid-19 tally: 264 new cases, 362 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 920,609 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 264 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,392 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 229 returned positive. Likewise, 4,317 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 35 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.43 per cent of the PCR and 0.81 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.92 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,689 active cases across the country. Of them, 303 are hospitalised, 120 in intensive care units and 27 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 362 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 807,516 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,559 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 236,482 people were vaccinated today.
