Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,571 new cases, 1,798 recoveries, 18 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 9

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 197,024 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,571 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,428 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,177 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 551,254 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 36,174 cases are active currently. Among them, 29,836 are in home isolation and 6,338 hospitalised.

Likewise, 411 are in intensive care units and 83 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 159,724 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,126 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,798 people have been discharged whereas 18 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 81 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 900 people are quarantined across the country.
