Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,433 new cases, 1,929 recoveries, 26 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 836,883 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 2,433 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,702 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 2, 052 positive. Likewise, 4,672 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 381 tested positive.

Of total tests, 21.12 per cent of the PCR and 8.15per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 16.92 per cent.

As of today, there are 38,384active cases across the country. Of them, 3,030are hospitalised, 620 in intensive care units and 165 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,929 people have achieved recovery whereas 26 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 705,893 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,638 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is per cent and the death rate per cent.

Today 70,026 were vaccinated.
