Nepal Covid-19 tally: 220 new cases, 253 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 924,157 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 264 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,433 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 209 returned positive. Likewise, 1,175 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 11 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.24 per cent of the PCR and 0.93 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.89 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,864 active cases across the country. Of them, 256 are hospitalised, 87 in intensive care units and 21 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 253 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 811,518 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,590 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 202,687 people were vaccinated today.
