Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,120 new cases, 1,177 in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, October 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 84,570 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,120 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,177 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,978 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 61,664 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 21,302 cases are active currently. Among them, 11,529 are in home isolation and 9,773 are hospitalised. Likewise, 217 are in intensive care units, and 31 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 62,740 people have achieved recovery whereas 528 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,044 people have been discharged whereas eight deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 74.1 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang, Mustang, and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 4,273 people are quarantined across the country.
