Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,945 new cases, 5,364 recoveries, 22 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 20

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 216,965 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,945 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,107 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,340 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 643,899 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 24,665 cases are active currently. Of them, 19,014 are in home isolation. Likewise, 403 are undergoing treatment in intensive care units and 63 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 191,002 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,298 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 5,364 people have been discharged whereas 22 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate has reached 88 per cent as of today.

Among 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavre, Kaski, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 700 people are quarantined across the country.
