Nepal Covid-19 tally: 180 new cases, 400 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 28

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,371 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 180 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,218 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 119 returned positive. Likewise, 3,123 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 61 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.28 per cent of the PCR and 1.95 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.15 per cent.

As of today, there are 8,235 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 400 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.

Of the total cases so far, 956,813 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,936 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 141,121 people were vaccinated today.
