Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,562 new cases, 1,589 recoveries, 19 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 866,905 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,562 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,266 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,180 returned positive. Likewise, 4,177 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 382 tested positive.

Of total tests, 11.49 per cent of the PCR and 9.14 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 10.81 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,202 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,512 are hospitalised, 453 in intensive care units and 137 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,589 people have achieved recovery whereas 19 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 742,306 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,984 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.23 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, 88,184 people were vaccinated today.
