Kathmandu, September 18
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 872,800 as of Saturday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,066 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 8,540 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 835 returned positive. Likewise, 2,818 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 231 tested positive.
Of total tests, 9.77 per cent of the PCR and 8.19 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.36 per cent.
As of today, there are 25,082 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,446 are hospitalised, 389 in intensive care units and 121 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,234 people have achieved recovery whereas 16 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 747,800 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,028 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.39 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.
Meanwhile, 170,317 people were vaccinated today.
