Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,369 new cases, 2,238 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,108,013 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,369 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,880 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,013 returned positive. Likewise, 3,000 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 356 tested positive.

Of total tests, 11.40 per cent of the PCR and 11.86 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 11.52 per cent.

As of today, there are 29,004 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,074 are hospitalised, 225 in intensive care units and 32 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,238 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 12 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 930,607 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,864 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.
