Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,158 new cases, 1,318 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 884,779 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,158 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,672 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 904 returned positive. Likewise, 2,331 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 254 tested positive.

Of total tests, 7.74 per cent of the PCR and 10.89 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.26 per cent.

As of today, there are 18,422 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,297 are hospitalised, 364 in intensive care units and 120 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,318 people have achieved recovery whereas 12 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 763,734 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,115 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.2 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 208,090 people were vaccinated today.
