NCP lawmaker wants got to inform House about Gokarna Resort deal

Khim Lal Bhattarai

Kathmandu, December 23

A lawmaker of the ruling Nepal Communist Party has demanded that the government inform the Federal Parliament about its decision to lease the land belonging to Nepal Trust for the operation of Gokarna Forest Resort to Yeti Holdings, an influential private company in the country.

Khim Lal Bhattarai, also the chief whip of the party in the National Assembly, made the demand during the Upper House meeting today. His urge follows a number of media reports that said the government leased the land at a nominal rate.

“After criticisms and controversies come out, it is the government’s duty to make the issue clear,” he said, “The government should inform the House about the issue.”
