Kathmandu, December 29

The Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party has staged demonstration across the country, protesting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives, on Tuesday.

This is the second time that top leaders of the party, split from Oli’s NCP owing to the dissolution decision, resorted to the street for protest. Earlier on Friday last week also, they had staged a demonstration in Kathmandu.

In Kathmandu’s protest on Tuesday, the party’s chairmen Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal among other senior leaders led the protesters.

The party also brought its cadres from various other districts also to the capital to show its strength. In addition, some central leaders were mobilised in other parts of the country.

Major political parties except the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led faction of the Nepal Communist Party have been protesting the move for the past week.
