Narayangadh-Muglin road to be shut for six hours every night

File: Expansion work is underway along Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan.

Chitwan, January 2

The Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan district, which connects Nepal’s capital with the East-West Highway, will be shut for six hours, from 10 pm to 4 am, every night from today onwards.

The road is being widened for last few years, but the construction works are going at a snail’s pace, giving a trouble to travellers.

Now, the decision to bar vehicles completely every night has been taken so as to expedite the project, informs the project office.

Earlier, a meeting involving the project officials as well as other government officials of the district had decided to impose the bar.

Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta says the road will be shut during the nighttime only as doing so during the daytime would create a havoc for traffic management.

He says the rule will be effective till the next notice.

Traffic police have already informed transport entrepreneurs about the new rule.
