More than 550,000 people have left the Kathmandu Valley to celebrate Dashain, according to traffic police authorities.
As of Tuesday evening, the exodus of people heading out of the Valley through major exit points has continued in large numbers.
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that a total of 553,261 people departed the Valley in the eight days from Ghatasthapana to Tuesday evening.
