Monsoon to become active for some more days, water level in rivers to rise

Kathmandu, July 15

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that monsoon will continue to remain active for some more days in the country, as a low-pressure system still persists in the Terai.

Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti says that the low-pressure area may start advancing towards India from Wednesday, thus weakening the monsoon comparatively.

Nagarkoti says that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the eastern, mid and western parts of the country on Monday. The division has asked people to stay alert as rivers flood anytime.

There may be obstruction of air and road transportation as well due to rains and low visibility. The division has also said that water level in major rivers like Rapti, Babai, Karnali and Mahakali can increase.
