Govt reduces PCR test charge to Rs 2k

Kathmandu, September 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has once again reduced the maximum charge that a laboratory can collect from a person for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for the novel coronavirus.

Whereas the previous maximum cost was Rs 4,400, it has been reduced to Rs 2,000, informs the Ministry of Health and Population’s s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam

According to Gautam, the price was reduced with the price reduction in reagents and other raw materials.

The government had previously slashed the cost from Rs 5,500 to Rs 4,400 on August 30.
