Ministers are bribed for staff’s transfer and promotion: Madhav Kumar Nepal

Madhav Kumar Nepal

Kathmandu, November 18

A senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party has complained that ministers are involved in bribery to manage transfer and promotion of the staff as demanded by the staff.

Speaking at a function organised in Kathmandu today, former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said politicians including ministers were also responsible for promoting chaos in all sectors as they would decide about recruitment, transfer and promotion of staff after getting bribed for the decisions.

On the other hand, the leader said local level officials were embezzling millions of funds and demanded that the government take strong action against them after investigation. He was of the view that politicians and bureaucrats in cahoots were promoting corruption at the local level.

Nepal said controlling corruption was essential to ensure good governance in the country.
