Kathmandu, February 16
Newly appointed Minister for Population and Environment Lal Babu Pandit says the ruling coalition partner CPN Maoist Centre will join the government in the next few days.
The Prime Minister will expand his Cabinet in 1-2 days, said Minister Pandit, who was speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on Friday. The UML leader also added that talks with the Maoist Centre are in the final stage and the two parties will announce unification soon.
The Minister said he will spend some time studying his ministry’s policies and programmes. “I am yet to study the ministry’s policies and rogrammes. I will consult experts on what is going on, then only I can comment on the portfolio I have been assigned,” added Pandit.
“However, my term in office will be dedicated towards promoting environmental balance and promiting a healthy environment,” the minister said.
