Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has taken stock of preparations being made to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi is coming to Nepal this Friday on a two-day state visit and he is planning to directly come to Janakpur from Patna on a helicopter before visiting Kathmandu.

During the visit, Gyawali this morning held a meeting with Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut to discuss preparations. Gyawali also commented that preparations done by the Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City were also satisfactory.

Meanwhile, Gyawali informed that Modi would just offer a puja to the Janaki Temple and receive a civic felicitation in Janakpur whereas other official functions including bilateral meetings and a joint press meeting of two prime ministers would be held in Kathmandu.

Modi is also scheduled to visit Muktinath of western Nepal.
