Nepal’s Mingma Dorchi Sherpa claims he set a world record by reaching the top of Lhotse from the top of Everest little over six hours.

The 32-year-old climber says he reached the top of Everest at 12:44 am on May 27 and the top of Lhotse at 6:45 am. The resident of Makalu village in Sankhuwasabha district, however, is yet to receive the Guinness Book of World Records.

Sherpa hosted a press meet in Kathmandu on Tuesday to make the claim.

Sherpa has already climbed Everest five times. He has also summitted Lhotse, Makalu, Manaslu, K2, Dhawalagiri and Ama Dablam.

Earlier, the record was held by Nimarl Puja Magar, who did it in 10 hours 15 minutes.
